Re: Wireless Remote Control

Title: Message
John,

Many thanks for the info.

Not sure this is what I'm looking for though as I need a lot of buttons and can't find anything like that on the site.

What would be ideal would be an rf receiver that plugs into a serial port, and a transmitter more like a full blown remote (one-for-all type thing).

I considered an ipaq with wireless lan, but that's too many pennies for what I want it for. Would be nice though...

Maybe the pronto and a few rf extenders around the house would be the best option after all. At least it could also be used for controlling my tv/dvd etc.

Many thanks
Tony T

Welcolme to the group

I use a RF Solutions 4 channel code hopping remote, I have a gain antenna on the roof (although you dont need one) I get max 500m line of site, the outputs are open collector so you can interface them to most things, but to a PC you are going to need a io port, in my case it goes to HomeVision (HV). My unit is about the size of a fag packet but they do smaller ones

There is a link to RF's http://www.rfsolutions.co.uk

Hi all,

I'm after a bit of advise, please. Having finally got my XP ha pc operating the pace ntl digital box (x10 keyfob remote for channel up/down, wireless fuji with TS for all the other functions).

What I'd really like is a wireless remote I can use to send commands directly (i.e. not via x10, and a lot smaller than the fuji) to the pc. Otherwise I'll have to start wiring up for ir distribution with a pronto or similar?

I was wondering if anyone has come across such a thing?
Being new to the group and ha, apologies if I've missed a similar topic in an earlier post or something really obvious.

Many thanks
Tony T
