If you do and plan to relay control it from something computer related be aware of back emf and its effect on the control circuit. Opto-isolate if poss or add shunt diodes or whatever they are called. Saves you resetting HV every night (as happened to me) or worse.

I was thinking of using sockets to hold the LEDs in.  It'll be a nightmare
if one of three dies, and you have to remove/desolder three to get it
working again!
