Please don't take this the wrong way as I'm sure you are using a legitimate copy.... but O2K has a nasty feature that was implemented through Service Release upgrades to launch and quit should the serial number used match one of a known list of pirated/outdated numbers. I don't think this is your problem as the applications usually launch and quit almost immediately rather than randomly. There were a lot of postings re this on one of the newsgroups as it proved quite difficult to remove it afterwards - you had to manually delete some registry entries. Sorry if this is no help at all !

Long-term lurker, here, in trouble, and hoping you peeps can help.  Just
tried installing Office2000 on my main machine and its a pile of poo -
some of the apps won't load at all, others terminate at random.  I've
re-installed it three times, and its still shite.  Tried re-installing
my ol' faithful Office 97, but it won't load because it thinks there's a
later version present (even when I de-install the newer one).  Anyone
got any suggestions before I go and get the hammer?

Thanks
Martin
