Yes, if it STARTS in your house at an aerial.
If it starts as the output from a central DVD player, VCR, or Sky box, say,
then you have to do something with it to transmit it round the house. The
co-ax outputs (if they exist) on these boxes tend to produce images/sound
of much lower quality than the SCART or SVideo outputs.
By the time you've added the signal degradation of running them round the
house, then starting with something that ouputs a good quality image, and
then putting in onto a cabling system that has better noise-rejection
characteristics gives noticeably better quality.

sorry, don't follow this.
I thought audio and video is transmitted via the co-ax and it's upto
the
recevier (tv in this case) to decode the audio/video and playback as
necesssary depending on the tv's capabilities?
