Am going to try this w/end to make up a CAT5 based cable to allow me
to site my Wavefinder in the attic. Basically a long USB extension
cable.  Dont know if it'll work but worth a go I think before buying
external aerial, cable etc.
I think it was Keith Doxey who reckoned USB signal might go down a
CAT5 twisted pair, but that you might need a remote 5V power supply.
I'll be working on that principle, but the power supply supplied with
the Wavefinder is I think 12V which plugs into the USB plug. Does
anyone know if Wavefinder uses/needs both a 12V input and also the 5V
supply from the PC via USB?
Also, has anyone tried extending USB like this & was it successful?
