Also a newbie; I investigated all sorts of alarm systems, including
Comfort. One reason I didn't go that way was that I already have a
PABX installed. Instead, I went for the Visonic Powermax which offers
reasonable X-10 control (7 addresses) as well as 30 individually
identifiable zones (29 wireless, 1 wired).
I'm still learning about its capabilities, and juggling with the
multitude of ways I can configure the whole system (including have
the computer call the alarm via the PABX to arm it if I've fogotten,
etc)
