I’ve been through this decision
with
the help of the esteemed Mr Harrison and other members of this list (sorry
I
can’t give everyone due credit). It isn’t the cheapest way to
do
it, but think of this:
You may need a 10Base100 switch, and
most
of the wireless ones only have 10BaseT build in. If you decide to upgrade
to
802.11a you’ll need to upgrade the router. If you want to upgrade
your
router, you have to upgrade your AP.
In the end I went
for
Alcatel Speed Touch 510 (single port
version) ADSL Router and uPNP Firewall. (from
DSLsource.co.uk)
Linksys 8 port 10/100 workgroup
switch
2x Linksys WAP11 802.11b APs (big
house!)
The whole lot came to around 500
notes.
Tim.
