If you plug it into a mis-wired 230 volt outlet, you can end up with one
side at 230 volts and the other side at 115v. If there are any caps to
the chassis, these will only be rated for 115 volt line and may break
down after some time making the chassis live, or blowing up anything its
connected to.
The solution is simple. Check the voltages on the output socket to earth
and that neither of them is more then 115 - one should be about 0
depending on the cables voltage drop.
Actully, the solution is more simple. Use sockets that are wired right
:)
