A simple character-delimited ASCII format. A bit of extra
"policy"
would be required to suit a more generic HA environment, but it's not
rocket science. It deliberately isn't XML (although there's no reason
why you can't translate bi-directionally to/from XML) because XML
adds little or no value in this kind of embedded environment where
lean-and-mean is king.
