But the question with the MemoZap (Sky+) is - does it interfere with
operation of menus, prog guide etc? - if it just sends a backup every few
<=
BR>
minutes with no logic applied, I'd expect it to occasionally cause
problems when a user is in one of the menus (unless it uses some other IR
<=
BR>
command than 'backup').

I think people are getting confused between two devices here.
The Digimemo see http://=
www.pacelink.co.uk/digimemo.htm
Which "The DigiMemo is a compact device which connects to a digibox
to=
drive
it to a specified channel after a mains interruption or a software
update.<=
BR>
The latest model then sends the 'backup' command every minute to clear
the<=
BR>
red button from the screen."
And the MemoZap (for Sky +) see http://www.pacelink.co.uk/memozap.htm
" The MemoZap is a battery powered gadget which sends
pre-programmed
commands to any Sky Digibox (including makes other than Pace) or a Pace
Sky+
Box.
Park it beside your Digibox and it will ensure that the box never stays
in<=
BR>
standby mode for more than a few minutes.
It will also remove that annoying red button which keeps appearing on
the
top right hand corner of the screen.
The price is just =A329.99 including UK post and VAT."

Anyone know how the MemoZap works with Sky+? I can see real frustration
if you happen to be setting up a recording or looking at the programme
guide and the unit sends a 'backup', effectively backing out of the
menu
you're in!

I think the main idea is to get rid of that flippin annoying 'red dot'
for interactive services. However if you have pronto I guess you could
program a macro that does that for you while using your AV kit. (Not
tested or tried my theory though!)
Many thanks

The MEMOZAP states that "it will ensure that the box
(digibox)never
stays in
standby mode for more than a few minutes"
Does keeping a Sky digibox in standby mode for an extended period cause
any
problems? If not, what is the point of the memozap (am I missing
something
here)?

Rob, I don't have a plasma, but I have one of these:
http://www.pacelink.co.uk=
/memozap.htm
It sends backup command every few minutes, which removes the anoying
red
dot.
