Why not sell a couple more Kat5 units (including the VGA to Kat5! - me
first!) - with all the cash you could then move to a detached house -
problem solved! :-)

A few years ago I did have a problem with a neighbour constantly
playing
the
same record over and over again for hours at really high volume. I put
one
of my disco speakers up against the wall, hooked it up to the radio
(before
the days of CD so it was the only source of music that would play
forever),
cranked the volume up and went out for a few hours. They obviously got
the
message because they havent done it since :-)
When I lived with my parents many moons ago, I repaired a big amp and
had to
give it a good thrashing to check that the protection circuit worked
OK.
In
the absence of a dummy load, I just used a pair of speakers..... until
I
got
a complaint from the people 8 houses away!!!
Actually, indoors, I tend to keep the volume much lower than I would
like so
that I dont upset anyone. In the car is a different matter. I have a
diesel
that has done 232000 miles and its a little bit noisy when the radio/CD
is
off but totally inaudible when I am driving by myself with the music
cranked
up. I also have to have it loud to drown out my appauling singing. :-)

Probably not too much power if you have to crank the vol up to 96db !
Can't imagine what your neighbours think - you haven't been on
'Neighbours from hell' by any chance? :-)
Paul.
