> This is what I want to do - going to order adsl wires only in the next
couple / three weeks -sorry Mark..... I've spent the last few weekends
routing cat5 cable around the house, and have a 48 port patch panel and
some
clipsal faceplates on order. Anybody any cost effective tried and tested
ADSL routers/modems they want to recommend - don't want to have to buy a
usb
modem and other bits of kit, would prefer to have an integrated router to
connect straight into my network?k

After browsing www.adslguide.co.uk and speaking with a couple of people on
the list (Ian Willoughby and Steve B) with them, I went for the ASUS 6000
router. They do one with a built in 4 port switch (6000BI) for just under
190, the single ethernet port (6000EV) is about 138. Both can be had from
www.solwise.co.uk

BT have accepted my order, so my activation date of 12 Feb looks to be well
on target :) The router won't be available until 6 Feb (they're almost
like
rocking horse manure at the moment) so hopefully everything will work out.
I'll let you all know just how good it is (sorry again Mark!)
