Re: Why the silver/gold ?



These cards are well "proven" by people like John and myself.  They work well with Epods, iPaqs laptops etc, have great driver support and their range is fantastic when compared with the horse manure that is the LinkSys WPC11.
 
The "cheapo" 3Com may be just as good, but until I had a recommendation from someone that has actually used them in all the devices I have and confirmed they are as good as the Lucent Orinoco cards I would avoid them.

So - why would I want these "silver and "gold" wireless cards, over and above the cheapo 3com 80211b cards for £64 ?

Better range ? I have a Netear ME102 AP (with the boosted output)
