Well Phil..most of the hardware required for OC'ing is of the highest spec, but generally marginally more expensive than stock stuff. So, even if you dont want to overclock, but just want a stock, reliable machine, then buying that CAS2 Crucial / Corsair RAM for £5 more than your unbranded, B-Grade, RAM from the local computer fair (and most computer fair memory is B Grade) is probably a better buy. Looking to build a new pc for HA or non-HA, having somebody who can explain the pro's and cons of buying an EPoX mobo over say an ABIT one is useful. Maybe you want a silent PC, then you are going to want some quiet fans (Like PAPST) and maybe you want a passive heatsink for your processor (like a Zalman Flower)...cos we all know how much SWMBO loves a noisy PC !!! Overclockers are retailers of Branded quality hardware..at less than high-street prices. Overclockers are to PC hardware what Lets Automate are to HA Equipment. (Catch my drift ?). Simon Rafferty Does overclocking a PC (hence taking it outside its reliable specs) and
overclocked memory really have anything to do with Home Automation?
Surely we're looking for PC that are reliable (or quiet) but not the
last word in wringing frames out of the latest game?

Hey ... I'm not the one complaining about OT posts! *chuckle*

Phil
