One thing that TIVO dosn't currently do, well not that I've seen is
to
actually stop you recording certain programs.
see: http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/54/24013.html
Seems to be one of those things
that’s
technically possible but unlikely to be implemented
Also, has anyone been able to upgrade a sky+ box, I'm about to rip
the
lid of my tivo, and give it 2x 120GB drives, and more
memory.
It should be, as the drives in the Sky
box
are just FAT32 formatted 7200rpm drives
I'm also, as TIVO are independant then your viewing data probably
dosn't
get used subversivly, were as sky+ of course is run by
sky.
This was the argument with the original
Sky box,
I've yet to see any evidence of it.
One thing I have noticed is that Tivo
owners
do seem to be evangelical in their support of the platform much in the same
way
that Mac users are. If it is so great why has take up been so slow, yet
with Sky+
they can’t make enough of the things?
