Stuart,

All I did was take a flex, plug attached with the appropriate fuse for
the rating of the lamps you are using, to the module in the DIN
enclosure, then to the lamp/s. Very simple, very effective, admittedly
though not as cheap a solution as a lamp module but allows *way* more
flexibility, in fact I intend to replace some more lamp modules where I
want the soft start option, the main places being bedrooms.

The actual housing can be left free, sitting on the floor or mounted on
a wall, cupboard or whatever else so long as you know that it will not
get wet etc. i.e. the usual electrical safety caveats. Once the module
is in the housing and the housing screwed together it is pretty safe,
even a kid would have to be fairly determined to get into the case as
the screws are recessed quite far.
