Really ... I see plenty of reasons why they aren't.

Agreed ... It is fairly trivial for an individual to change a US module
to work on 240v however these could not be legally sold over here as
there are specific circuitry requirements that are particular to 240v
(track spacing and thickness for example).

Now ... If they changed the design of the US modules to allow them to
pass CE approval over here then maybe they could bring the prices down
over here ... However they'd cost more to make over there as the modules
would need rehousing and anything bumping the prices up over there would
be unacceptable as there are several companies marketing modules so
competition comes into the equation.

These toys we play with are actually pretty cheap in real terms ...
"Luxury systems" are Crestron and AMX based systems and I assure
you
that those systems are still selling as well as ever! (Unfortunately we
just don't inhabit that group of people!)
