Only problems with mains voltage halogens are:

• They have a higher initial inrush current than standard tungsten lamps.
• When dimmed the filament cools and the halogen cycle stops causing tungsten to coat the inside of the lamp leading to a shorter lamp life.  Just ensure that you run the lamps at >90% every now and again so the silver/black tungsten that has coated the inside of the lamp evaporates, and deposits back onto the filament again.  (although dimming to low levels will increase the lamp life considerably)
• Mains voltage lamps have a lower efficacy than low voltage lamps ie. a 50W mains halogen has a lower light output than a 50W low voltage lamp.

Running them with a LW10 dimmer shouldn't be a problem, but I'd decrease the units capacity by at least 10%.
