RE: OT(ish) IDE disks/storage

Wouldn't mind a suitable hard drive for my Tivo!

A HA BUY is a good idea, but unless ppl 'catch' the messages, then they
aren't gonna know there's a buy of something interesting going on.
I would suggest that discussion carries on here for a wee while and then
gets xferred to the new group once volumes get high and/or the list is
established of who wants what.

>From the couple of buys I've done or been involved in, there are _always_
stragglers who didn't see the thing mentioned the first 100 times (or like
me and the turbonet buy, were not interested originally) and who would then
like to join.
If you take the discussion away too early then ppl will miss it.

hmm....no easy answer.
Maybe you should set up a group and say, every couple of days whilst the
list is open, you post a message to UKHA_D reminding ppl that a bulk buy of
X is in progress.
That way, only a few messages here, but also ppl less likely to miss out coz
they bulk deleted aload of mail to catch up with the list.....

just my 2p worth
