The Tablet PC is a reference design (like the WebPad, Set-top-Box, and
Information PC). We are not currently intending to produce and sell the
Tablet PC. We are willing to give the design to contract builders to

into production for customers. All the reference designs act as a
showcase
for the VIA components.
I think we probably would consider taking it to production if the cost
was
right. At the moment the cost is probably more than a notebook PC but
consumers want something that is lower cost than a desktop PC. One way
round
this is to sell the systems under cost but to make money back through
various internet services etc.
The cost is certainly a lot more than the amount you mention. I will
try
and
find out what the build cost is.
