Tim,

I think from your post what you want to do is keep the wireless part
separate to allow for expansion in the future, if so...

Are you getting a wires only adsl install, or getting a modem supplied?

If wires only, then you either need a separate modem and router, or a
combined modem/router. For combined, the ASUS AAM6000EV does the job for not
much money
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/hardware/reviews/2001/q4/asus_aam6000ev.asp .

For separate, you will need an ADSL modem with an ethernet connection and an
ethernet router such as the linksys BEFSR41 or a USB ADSL modem and a USB
router such as the DrayTek Vigor 2200USB.

I'm beginning to think that everyone hates me, 'cos no-one is responding to
my Linksys questions. Maybe this one will get a better response J

There seem to be loads of ADSL routers that support PPPoE which seems to be
the standard in the States. I haven't seen that many that support PPPoA
which is used over here. Anyone got any recommendations.

My plan for the time being is to use 802.11b As and when we need an increase
in bandwidth I'll just swap out the access points for 802.11a (or whatever)
so it seems sensible to keep the modem/router/dhcp server separate at the
moment

Tim
