RE: RF interference
Chris,
All my video sources are connected to my AV amp via SCART or similar,
which
feeds the TV in the lounge, so no problems there.
They are also connected to each other like this:
DVD->Video->SKY->RF Dist Amp->Tivo (On Dodgy was in
this chain too but
temporarily is removed)
(and RF in to video)
so I can watch any of these sources anywhere I have an RF outlet in the
house (eg the bedroom).
This quality is suffering because of the lenght of the chain - and
especially at the Tivo end where the feed supplies terrestrial TV to
the
Tivo to record BBC1 etc. This means terrestrial TV looks crap, or I
have to
tie up the SKY box watching terrestrial through it.
I want to improve the RF signal to the Tivo and the signal to the rest
of
the house.
The Tivo only really needs to receive the terrestrial signal and not all
the
others, but to do that I'd have to stick another splitter at the input
to
the video, so I can feed the lounge with that signal only, and the rest
go
thru the whole house dist amp.
The problem will still remain though of the picture on the other TV's
looking pants - especially as I want to distribute Tivo too, so will be
plugging that in to the chain anyway. Eventually will end up
with:
DVD->OnDodgy->Video->SKY->Tivo or some such thing to distribute
all Vid
sources via RF - until the switcher turns up that is.....
