If you're going to the trouble of ripping off the plasterboard, you may
as
well stuff in rockwool _and_ use sound dampening plasterboard on top.
It is v.difficult to sound 'proof' an existing room - unless you build
a
room within a room at gr8 expense, so just maximise what you _can_ do.
Even with this solution, I do not get sound proof, but sound very very
much
dampened.
While you're at it, rip out the ceiling and repeat the process to get
vertical sound dampening. Means the midnite mode on your AV amp
rarely gets
a lookin :-)
