GA-7DPXDW

Q1.

Can I use 300 watts power supply for GA-7DPXDW server board?

A1.

According to the system specification, 7DPXDW server board only performs correctly with a minimum 400 watts power supply.

Q2.

Does the 7DPXDW motherboard only support Registered DDR RAM? I use 1 x Unbuffered DDR DIMM in any DIMM Slot (4 Slots had been tested) but the speaker beeps 1 second and stop 3 seconds; then beep-warning sound is going on. Is the problem of DIMM? Or, the system BIOS only support Registered DDR?

A2.

GA-7DPXDW server board supports registered DDR memory only due to the hardware design issue. So far, our GA-7DPXDW CANNOT support un-buffered DDR memory. We may design a generation board, which can support un-buffered DDR memory in the future. Please refer to our Qualify Vendor List for the vendor of registered DDR memory.

Q3.

What type of AMD CPU that support for Dual Processors?

I wish I had your luck - I'm also having problems with Scan.

I bought a Gigabyte Dual Athlon M/B (GA-7DPXDW) from them a month ago.  However when under high load, it will lock up for 2-3 seconds every minute or so.  I have been in contact with Gigabyte support (who I don't rate very highly) and so far, a month on, it's still not resolved.

Scan say they cannot refund me as the M/B is *NOT* faulty, ie. it basically works.  I argued that the board *IS* faulty as it's doesn't fully meet the prupose it was sold for.

Any ideas where I go from here guys??

Cheers

Graham

thanks chris

I just spoke to them on the phone and by a miracle

the guy on the other end just gave me an rma number

and said he will refund me when i send it in

It is like roulette with these companies. I just depends

on who you speak to on the other end of the phone

Simple you have a right to return it if its faulty, get an RMA number from them  and send it back.

bought some memory together with mobo (a7v333) and cpu

from scan. Could not get it working so sent i back. They asked for

me not to send the memory in the rma.

They found the mobo was faulty and could not get more any time soon

so gave me a refund for the mobo and cpu.

I bought the mobo else and still get a problem. Turns out it was

scan's memory that was the problem. Now i want

to send the memory back and they are saying no it is too late.

B**ks to that i told them. Pay me or the court.

What an absolutly pathetic company to buy from.  My friends

also have had so many problems with them.
