RE: Controller for garden automation

Martin,

Ian Bird has a circuit for some "beam breaks" that may do what yo= u want.

I'm afraid I don't know of any cheaper controllers to do what you want - I = took the plunge and went for HomeVision, albeit after a long phone call wit= h Mark McCall which started "before I spend this money, I want you to = reassure me...".

I would NEVER consider another controller. If I do get around to sorting ou= t the second house, it will have a HomeVision as well. (And James Hoye is a= lready booked to do the cabling.) We were on the verge of buying a plot whe= n we discovered that Mary was pregnant, so it's all sort of on hold :-)

Regards,

Mark

I need a controller to automate some water pumps in the garden. The
original idea was to activate them when people walk across small bridges across a pond or sequence them etc.

I was looking at some industrial controllers as they are quite cheap, =A380=
for a simple programmable unit.
However I also want to control the garden lights as well and maybe have remote control.
Suddenly I need a controller with inputs from sensors, relay output, x10 input and output, setup over web.....its a ha controller!!

However I don't want to spend =A3500+ on a homevision. What about the Ocelo= t
that letautomate have?
Any other suggestions?

Also has anyone ideas for source of outdoor people detectors?
PIR would be too general as I need three separate detector zones that are <= BR> quite close together.
I guess a infra red beam.

Martin
