I'm planning to use some surplus loft insulation packed into the opening.
It
won't be as good as the foam (I suspect) but better than nothing (I was
also
concerned about future expansion).

Actually thats an interesting point.. I'm going to have to have an
opening
in
the room to pass the cables in... so I suppose its never going to be
sealed
effectively. I wouldn't want to foam fill the opening incase I need to
add more cables in the future.
