Ian, I don't have that small selection arrow on "Send" button.
I have Outlook 2000.
I am downloading mail from 3 mailboxes, from 3 ISPs, each defined as different service.

Nah, that's Exchange only stuff Mark..

What to do is create a new mail account for each mailbox, under Tools> Accounts

for each Mailbox, set the Incoming Mail Server authentication details as requried, and set the General stuff (name org etc) to the desired values..

Set outbound SMTP to be the same for all of the accounts  (usually your ISP's upstream)

when you send a message, clicking the small selection arrow on the "Send" button allows you to choose which account to use to send the email, therefore who it will appear to originate from.

Ian.

Not sure if this will work without an Exchange server, but...

... in the message window, go to the View Menu and select "From"

That will give you a field into which you can type the From address.

As I said, no idea whether this works for a POP/SMTP configured Outlook rather than a MAPI one :-(

I have an ISP account that allows me to have any alias I want e.g.
spamhater@xxxxxxxAll mail is delivered to a default address by my ISP unless I set up
a seperate mailbox on their server, in which case I have to log in
with a different password and dial up again.
What I would like to be able to do is to choose what my alias is
when I send an email. I am using Outlook 2000 and XP Pro.
Suggestions please........
