Did I mention that I'm a lazy bugger and don't want to spend any time

this? :-)

Alternatively, the problem, as you say, is the thumbnail issue.
If it wasn't for that, I'd just knock up a few pages with links to the
images, with the images being the IMG bit of the A tag.
(When I say a few, I mean a few 100 of course).
Being on the end of a 56k line, I fear granny would lose patience
loading
say 20 1280x1024 piccies at a time, only to see them as 20x20 images,
and
then have to wait for them to load again as she viewed each one......

Using a grapihic package, it would have to be fairly automated because
of
the volume of piccies - otherwise it'd take months to do em all :(
