Did anyone see
a
film on Saturday night (11:55pm) called "Dream House"?
Made in 1998,
it
tells the (crap - IMHO) story of a "scientist who creates a prototype house
in
which computer controls and performs all the household chores". Basically a
rip-off of "Demon Seed".
I have only
watched
half of it so far, but I was interested to see how many things made up this
future house that have been on the newsgroup lately,
like:
- Car Number
recognition
- Thumb-print
recognition
- Loads of
CCTV
- Whole-house
audio
- Security system
with electric locks
While the film itself was daft (with references like "BIG
RED" and
a computer system called "Helen"), it is not something that I would
suggest
you let SWMBO watch - otherwise your pocket money may be drastically
reduced!!
Anyway - I will
watch the other half tonight - might get some new
ideas........
