Hi Jonathan
We just had (almost finished) our house rewired and its cost
£5300..
but that's for rewire + cat5 etc but that's a 7Bed+cellars..(14
rooms
+ hallway) It didn't sound a bad price to me because I was told
that
an average rewire for a 3 bedroom terrace was about 2K. In the end
the
spark is only installing the DataComm sockets and I'm pulling the
wire
etc.. but that's only because I ended up with far more sockets etc
than
originally intended.
My advice would be to workout *exactly* what sockets you want and
where
you want them. In fact if I did this again I'd go around and
"draw"
the sockets on the wall. We've had a few issues with our spark
putting
in boxes at differing heights and levels. Also specify that you
want
DEEP patresses.. ours seem to be a mixture of depth and some look
too
thin to take the bend of a coax cable.
I had the rewire started before I'd researched X10 and
consequently
non of my light switches have a neutral... arrrghh!
