Bluetooth car kit, was Bluetooth headsets? (Ken?)

All

I finally got around to installing a Bluetooth carkit over the weekend..  It all
works great, however the call volume is very low, to point where it cannot be
heard when moving at speed with the roof down. Or up for that matter.

The way it's connected is simply by tapping in to the front speakers, and
triggering the mute cable going into the head unit.  The problem is that the
volume is controlled by the phone (6310), but the higher it gets the more
distorted it gets, as opposed to louder.

What I think this means is that I need some sort of in-line amplifier to drive
the speakers a little better (unfortunately there's no input on the head unit
for a phone).  The manufacturer has suggested a separate powered speaker, but
I'd rather avoid this as there's nowhere to hide it.

Any ideas on how I could do this?  Apart from this little niggle, the car kit
itself is great (a Parrot CK3000 from Expansys if you're interested).

I got one of these the other day too. I agree it's great with the slight
downside that's it's not very loud for when I've got the roof down in the
car! (+ I normally drive too fast). But I guess none are given the tiny
battery. Anyone know how they compare to the ericsson Bluetooth headset in
terms of volume?
