Plexiglass is a soft material so is easy to cut, drill etc. The down-side
(like aluminium) is that because it's soft, it's easy to scratch etc.
Typically, you'd use a fine tooth saw, like you'd do for metal. You can
also
use metal files. I'm not sure about wood chisels; used with a scraping
action I guess they'd be ok too, just don't _hit_ them ;-) Also use wet,
wet
& dry paper rather than sand paper and be careful when you use power
tools
as it's also quite easy to melt if you get too enthusiastic :-)
I'm not too sure how you'd prep the plexiglass for painting, maybe just a
going-over with fine wet & dry paper to provide a key, then a primer
suitable for plastics (like car paint ?).

I have a catalogue and have indeed found another likely candidate. Cheaper
then the ones from RS as well. I am tempted to use a bit of plexiglass in
the project, but am not too sure how easy it is to cut it. Guess it will
just have to go on a trial and error basis :-)
