But you still can, just use adaptor. They don't have to be on these small cables. I have some neat, compact ones.

If you put network socket, with adaptor you can plug phone.

If you put phone socket, you cannot plug network without changing socket, there's no such adapter AFAIK.

Therefore, network sockets give you more flexibility.

I actually use DECT phones around the house (so only one point
needed) - but I wanted to cover all eventualities so I could simply
plug in a handset, fax, Meteor etc if I needed to.
