Can somone describe exactly what this swticher will do ?
I kat5 at the moment. would i able to watch different souces in each room
?

      The KAT5 switcher will be the way to go,
though no ETA on that as yet.
      ATM, you can distribute one KAT5 source to
several destinations if you use specially modified intermediate KAT5
receivers.
      Provided everyone is happy watching the same
source at any one time (for now), you could use a SCART switchbox to route
one of several inputs (all your source devices) to a single output (your
KAT5 TX unit, linked to all the KAT5 RX units).
       
      If you go the RF route, you're looking at
inferior piccies all round. 
      Until the switcher comes along, ATM, I am
using a mixture of my AV amp, KAT5 andR F.
      Amp distributes all sources to lounge. 
KAT5 from DVD direct to TV (well will be when I plug it in) for extra
special quality.
      DVD, VCR, SKY linked also and feed a cheapo
RF distribution amp, so master bedroom can view DVD (provided VCR not in
use), SKY, VCR, terrestrial tv, albiet in kack quality - but then, it is
only a 12" portable :)
       
      The plan is to move it all to KAT5 once the
switcher arrives.......
       
      If you can,. I would suggest holding out
until then, or implementing one of the compromise solutions for now - or
indeed, wire CAT5 AND RF so you will haveu ltimate flexibility in the
future - the additional cost of the extra cable is negligible really &
if you're going to all the effort of pulling cables, a few more won't add
significantly to the hassle factor.......

            After
spending several months resisting, I am now looking at putting in some Cat5
to upgrade the whole house video which is at the moment based on several
video senders.
             
            Ideally I
would like to distribute DVD, PC, Caller ID (overlay), CCTV and TiVo to all
TV's in the house.  My original thinking was to use Keith's KAT5
modules, but from what I understand I can only send one source down at a
time.  So I think what I really need is a combination of KAT5 modules
to get everything to a central location, then re-distribute over Coax to
each room on different UHF frequencies - presumably much like hotels do it
??
             
            Am I thinking
down the right route or should I stop now before wasting more money on
things I don't need (again). If so does anyone have any experience of
redistributing signals of Coax ?
             
            If the costs
are horrendous then how would I go about implementing an automatic
switching KAT5 hub?
