If it were cheap enough, it'd be for the same reason as you put cat5
everywhere, future-proofing. There will come a day when GB ethernet is the
norm, especially for the likes of us, when movies are streamed from a PC to
many TV's or rooms around the home (especially in larger homes like Mark's &
Umar's)

That's why I would have it, and why I have cabled for it (though I guess some
of the cable terminations might not be up to spec, but that's easy to fix.
