Yes the LW10 is ugly IMO as well and so is the LM15, not an elegant
solution in either case IMO!
What kind of uplighters is it? Are they floor-standing or wall mounted
ones?

AIUI, the AWM2 is an appliance module and does need a neutral. So I'm
guessing that that option is out!
The rest really depends on how accessible the wiring is to you and that
could well be the deciding factor in where you go from here. Dependent
on the level of access you have to the wiring then there are options.
You can use the existing wiring at the switch for a momentary switch as
I have done in a few locations and, in other locations, to get a live
and neutral by changing the wiring at the source to power X10 kit.
