BT can set up any line to report any number, the problem is it doesn't
get
setup unless requested ( AIUI )
It wouldn't be too difficult for the companies you mention to have
their
central switchboard number programmed as CID for all outgoing calls?
I don't think anything will change as very few people seem to care
about
withheld numbers.
