RE: SliMP3 Ethernet MP3 Player

Er.... no.....

He said the AT _COAX_ outputs.

The only COAX outputs on the AT are the analogue ones. The digital output is, AIUI, Toslink.

I've read and re-read the comment three or four times, and I can't work out whether he made a simple error and _was_ talking about the digital out on the AT, or whether he was being a techy and used the word "coax" for the analogue.

I also note that the Meridian reference was:

1: Amps, not decoders
2: A different person writing

David Toop mentioned Meridians. The reference to the "can't tell the difference" was in a message that he quoted.... there's nothing to suggest that the writer of THAT was using Meridians.

In fact, the writer of the "can't tell the difference" was using a pair of Sennheisers. OK cans, but hardly audiophile.

Regards,

Mark

Actually it said a bit more than that even...

...The guy said he was using a Meridian decoder so he was saying that
the analogue feed from the SliMP3 through the Meridian sounded as good
as the digital feed from the AudioTron decoded by the Meridian.

Having said that it shouldn't be too much of a task to reroute the
analogue feed within the AudioTron if it is an issue that it picks up
noise from the PSU. What is more of a concern is that they have simply
paralleled up the line out sockets on the back panel and the headphone
output which isn't generally a good idea.
