Seems you have it in for Tivo eh ! I have a large number of Tivos in use Gareth (over a dozen) on various packages e.g. SKY NTL and even a custom channel guide  and I have not had any such problems... I think they are fantastic value particularly if you have a no-subbed application for them ;) i.e. CCTV - manual recorder - tuner with RGB output etc.

 - 1) and and 3) certainly point to incorrect setup of the box

1) Not absolutely clear on what you mean here - you can setup without aerial if you want to or you can chose either the aerial or the Sky source for the terrestrial channels as you see fit. What do you mean by can't go up/down channels ? and stuck on 5 ?

 2) is a possible issue where Tivo is trying to record something for you but it would have put a dialog on screen telling you it was about to change channel - assuming you have the hardware setup correct - i.e. Sky linked through TIVO you should have seen this. - Of course if you change SKY's channels directly on the SkyBox/remote then it has no way of knowing what on earth is going on. You can also turn off Tivo recording it's own suggestions if you wish - then it just does what you tell it.

3) You can avoid channel  311 if Tivo thinks it is part of your package by ensuring it is not selected in the 'channels I receive' setup - have you checked over Tivos channels I receive cf with your actual received channels ??

Kevin - down on Tivo farm - loves his Tivos

Well, I have 5 days left of the free planner - might as well try to get used to it.

1. Despite my attempt to redo the entire setup, the damn thing stays on channel 5 - cant go up/down channels. And channel 5 terrestrial - and I removed the RF cable to stop if finding them !
2. Twice yesterday it sent out a "Sky" button whilst watching something pre-recorded on the the Sky box. When you press SKy whilst watching a recorded item, it exits to normal TV.
3. Three times is has switched to channel 311 for no reason. It;s a movie channel, and I dont subscribe to them.

It's as flaky as a box of cornflakes !
