            It was g= etting confusing and i think its better that only
one or
two people give advise at this stage. You Have done really well i think
so
keep at it. Yesterday i built my version of the tx circuit . Of course
tested it on the bench before connecting to hv . Fixed 1 wiring problem
and
then tested the operation of the mux and checked current draw by the
leds .
All appeared ok so decided to connect to hv. Well it didnt work ,it
transmitted ok but my tv would not respond . I also have an ir rx in the room so i pointed at that and looked for the led on it to lite, no joy.
Anyway i think the problem might be that im using an opto coupler on the incoming ir data (4n28) and its not fash enough . I will keep trying and if
i get it to work and if you are having no joy i can build you or send
you
the drawing whichever .
        Can we upload pics to Marks Site= if so how and when i(if i) get
it
working i will sent some pics.

I know many in this group are right up on the Sky Digital boxes etc. I
got sky installed on Tuesday and was given the "NEW" Amstrad DXR3= 00
digibox. Unfortunately when tv guide is selected, the box will on
receive the next infra-red signal if the remote is held <1" from th= e
window on the main box. Sky got  me to download the latest firmware, b= ut
this does not help. Any suggestions appreciated.

This has turned wife against it.....she was already sceptical of it....

Aditionally does anyone have a suitable ccf file for this box to try on
the Ipaq.

Interesting point...

I think a number of us like to be contactable but also want our privacy

with a meteor or something similar it is possible to implement call
screening to an extent...this is not really possible with a mobile so if my
parents (for example) want to contact me at unsociable hours then they
only
have the option of my home phone as my mobile is switched off due to
work
related idiots who think I am available 24/7.

I think that caller id should be mandatory (for all but a few
exceptions)
and I would like a mobile that has an automated call screening facility.
Just my thoughts :)

Looking at that WWW site it seems like their DigiMemo and DigiTimer
connect to the digiboxes via the 2nd RF input socket (the same one
used by IR extenders/videosenders).

Does anyone know what method the IR codes are sent via the coax input?
This would be a great reliable way to control a Sky box rather than by
using IR emitters.

controller . I decided to bypass the opto connected to incoming ir
signal from Hv to confirm my suspicions. Tried it again and it worked
but only with two ir leds inserted in the Zone Splitter . Looked at my
schematic and realised it was slightly different to my homebrew circuit. In my homebrew unit the driver transistors were connected  common
emitter but my new circuit was common collector .Re did the driver
transistors and tried again. Now works with all 8 ir leds in Zone
Splitter on all Zones . The range is approx 15ft and i monitored the
current which was approx  5mA . I set up my Hv ports thru the control<= BR> menu rather than a macro at this stage just to confirm my hardware was
connected ok. Would still like to use opto isolation on the incoming ir
,will order something from rs components. Now must update my drawing
before i forget.
