RE: (ukha_d) OT Sky Digiboxes

Yep, the card & box is linked, but it only takes a phone call to Sky to divorce
and remarry a new box.

I've got a crappy DRX100, but since I've been cycling the power every night,
it's been absolutely fine.  It's still an Amstrad though, and said manufacturer
would not normally be allowed in my house!

Matthew,
AIUI on my info, the card and the box are "married" so you cannot just
swap the card over, sorry :-(

All this talk about sky digiboxes made me realise that my amstrad DRX100
is probably crap as well as out of warrenty.
If I were to ebay myself a new digibox, is it just the case of swapping
the box and the viewing card?  Or is there some other secret serial
number that sky need to know.
If its the former - with the exception of the 'Buy a sony' thread - I
might by accident buying a similar age box - is any one aware of a
website with comparisons (and ages) of the boxes so that I can make an
informed choice?
Thinking further - where do you obtain free to air cards if I wanted to
use the replaced box elsewhere, and what sort of double lnb would I need
to purchase to share the dish between two boxes?
Matthew - whose world is suddenly opening up with different
possibilities.
