Thanks again guys, but I still have a few more questions.

RE: Pointing OE to mailbox on "server"

I copied my Outlook Express mailbox data to my Win98 "server" and
tried to point
OE to that location. The Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store
Folder would
allow me to point to any local directory, but not to any network drive.
The
"OK" button was greyed out for non-local drives. I tried with
both a mapped
drive and \\servername\... Any ideas?

I am using client for Microsoft Networks. Is there a "server for
microsoft
networks" (Win98) that could/should be installed on the server? I
also tried
checking "log on NT domain" in the network setup with no joy.

RE: User Profiles on "server"

I went to Control Panel -> Users and added user profiles there. The
profile
locations defaulted to C:\WINBLOWS\profiles\_username_

I tried hacking my registry--found a key (this is from memory so it may be
off a
bit)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\winblows\currentversion\profilelist\_username_
I changed a key in there from C:\WINBLOWS\profiles\_username_ to the
location on
the server. When I would log in again, it would say "you haven't
logged into
this machine before" and then create another user profile on the local
machine.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the TweakUI suggestion James. I'll give that a try this
weekend.

Thanks again for all the help. I hope that this thread is of some interest
to
others, otherwise I would be happy to take it off-line.
