projectors and widescreen

SHMBO has given preliminary permission to get a projector (ie. she said yes
while she was wasn't really listening).

Looking at the specs of these things you see a lot of 800 x 600 versus
1024 x 768, 800 Lumens vesus 1000 etc. But its not very clear how these
boys will work with widescreen. I don't wanna spend a sh*t load of Euros on
one and find out the widescreen footie and DVD's don't look too good.

Can someone set me straight?
