No need to apologise - we're all a bit thick about something or other.

With the exception of course, of the big girls blouses who were arguing
earlier about value for money :-)

TA is Terminal Adapter. Basically a modem for ISDN
(Attn techie ppl: no need to point out that it's not really a modem
because
it's not modulating or demodulating anything. I'm using it as an analogy,
not a technically correct example!).

Simplest is probably to get an internal jobbie, which should come with all
the requisite drivers etc to set it up as avery fast dial up connection
very fast to dial up that is, not very fast per se - though a lot better
than a 56k modem :-)

A router is better but probably more complex to set up.
It is also OS independent, whereas the TA depends on drivers being written
for your particular OS.
Also, it is _extremely_ easy to set up a router that dial/drops a
connection
100's of times each day, running up a HUGE phone bill in the process.
At least with dial up, you can set it to manual dial.

Perhaps you should initially bung 30? quid at it and get an internalt TA,
maybe going for a router at a later stage (if you need to) once you are
happy with HH.

HTH,

Tony
