Why do you post the same message to multiple lists ?

Most of use subscribe to most of the lists so will see a posting anyway.

If it is specific to HomeVision then HomeVision-Users will be the best place as that is its area of expertise and purpose in life.

If it is KAT5 specific then KAT5-Users is the place.

For more general  and UK specific HA enquiries then UKHA_D is the place.

Whilst not as bad as Crossposting, depending on which list someone chooses to answer your question in directly affects the replies that other readers (who might have an interest) will see.

The reason for multiple lists, including all the offshoots of UKHA, is to avoid overloading uninterested parties with information that is not mainstream to the list in question NOT to give someone multiple places to ask exactly the same question.

Having decided that I can't wait for the KAT5 switcher, I've decided
to go for an Extron MAV128 video/audio matrix switcher to form the
heart of my distribution system. This takes baseband composite video
and unbalanced line level audio (RCA connectors).

The questions are:

1) How far can I send unbalanced line level audio?
2) What cable is best (twin screened audio cable?) and what
difference does this make to distance and interference?
3) Is CT100 fine for composite video (15-30m)?
4) What connectors are best at the other end for both audio and
video (BNC, RCA etc - is there adifference in resistance, quality
etc)?

I could use KAT5 modules on each of the outputs of the switcher and
a receiver on the TV end but this would mean 7-8 transmitters and 7-
8 receivers = more expense + boxes (and PSU's) behind TV's that I
don't really want. If I can do it with cabling alone that would be
best.

Any thoughts?

Ta,

Paul.
