I always wanted to be a Enginer, and rather than do A levels I dropped
out of school with a good collection of O's to go to Technical Collage
(I failed E Lit and Lang, actually I have retaken Lang 5 times and
failed every time even at the age of 22 ! Dyslexia rules KO), Back to
the story, I messed around at collage and I can remember my Mechanics
tutor (Also cource tutor) saying in my last year
"Tankard have you considered a manual job, working on a building site
or
something ?" he was serious.
That was the turning point, I got stuck in, when I left there I
continued with enginering until post grad when I switched to
mechatronics and ended up with a M Phil and PhD.
I went back to see him with my PhD, he had retired, so I found where he
lived and......
He could not remember me, he thought I was trying to sell him cleaning
products !
