RE: Hinges

You could try a =91standard friction hinge=92 like the ones on this page:
http://www.isaaclord.co.uk/prod_list.asp?ProdId=3D27&pagenum=3D7<= BR>
These are the type used on window sashes that allow you to reach both
sides of the window when you open them.

By fixing the part that normally attaches to the window frame to the
kitchen unit and the other part to the screen, it=92ll give a nice motion where it moves forward as you pull it down. Once it reaches the
vertical, it should be quite secure when pressing on the screen.

With a bit of ingenuity, you may even be able to attack a motor and lead screw to automate it.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi All,
=A0
SWMBO has given me the go ahead to fit my MP3 player into the kitchen
below the units but wants a screen that can be hinged up out of the way. =A0
Ideally I would go for a motorised system like they have on the A320/319 Airbus that BA operates but I think they would be expensive (unless you
know otherwise)
=A0
Does anyone know of a suitable hinge that is both easy to use but strong as I have a touch screen on this display and need the unit to kind of
lock into position for when using the screen.
=A0
Thanks
Dave...
