I always restart after changing the network settings. And since I
turn off the PCs at night, they get rebooted that way too.
I am still utterly convinced I need IPX/SPX for Network
Neighbourhood to work !!!
Of course I am now going to try it without on all my PCs to see
what happens.

Yes, the former, "WORKGROUP" - I *always* use this value.
I don't need IPX/SPX if I'm connecting 2 Win2000 machines, say,
but if Win9x enters the equation, I am sure that I do need to add it.
Or at least upon adding it, NetNeigh. works just fine. I haven't tried
removing it afterwards though.
More reports after I try it again tonight.
