RE: (OT) Corporate presentations
Start by conditioning yourself not to be too upset when they show
screenburn
in 3 months :-(
You need the content to change as much as possible so that nothing is
static
for too long.
Avoid a fixed Logo at all costs.
If you dont want to use Powerpoint deelop something in HTML and run
Internet
Explorer in Kiosk mode
iexplore -k http://whatever
Using HTML allows you to use Flash and all other sorts of fancy things
including audio and video with ease. One screen could be used to update
a
database that told the other screens what to show.

Subject: [ukha_d] (OT) Corporate presentations
Guys
I need some ideas.
My boss has managed to get signoff for some plasma screens to be put up
in
the
office. Part of our operation is a call centre, so they'll be used,
in
part, to
display rolling call stats and other 'interesting' stuff.
The set up will probably be 1 big screen in the middle, with a smaller
screen in
each side. Now ideally the big screen will display some rolling
stats, and
maybe other interesting stuff (stock prices, weather, traffic info or
whatever),
and the 2 screens to the side would interact with it, i.e. when call
stats
are
being shown a picture of a telephone will appear on the side screens.
So, anybody got any ideas on where to start? At the moment nothing
has been
purchased, but the key thing is that the presentations have got to be
cheap,
but
look expensive, and above all not look like yet another PowerPoint
presentation.
I was toying with the idea of putting an RF switch on the wall beneath
the
screens to allow some basic interactivity (via X10, HS??), but I'm not
sure
on
how to control multiple screens, and what presentation s/w to use??
