I have yet to know someone that got stopped at UK customs from coming
off a commercial flight.

Personally, I would just split them up between bags, unwrapped but in
bubble wrap IYSWIM, and hope for the best. So long as you don't have a
suitcase full they probably won't bother.

On the last US debacle I was 2.5Kg over the limit (left with one
Samsonite case ;-)) with DVDs, CDs, clothing and various electronics and
I was getting wound up on the plane that I was for a strip search at
Heathrow by my mates...never happened! Walked straight through and
no-one said boo to me, although that was before the 9-11 thing.
